Corey McMahon
Corey McMahon is a director and producer based in Adelaide. He trained at Flinders University Drama Centre, graduating in 2006. In 2007 he completed a Master of Creatives Arts, also at the Drama Centre. He is the Artistic Director of Theatre Republic where his credits include: How Not To Make It In America, Future:Present, The Bleeding Tree, PodPlay, Lines and Nil by Mouth.
For State Theatre Company SA: The 39 Steps (Associate Director), After Dinner, Romeo and Juliet (co-production with Adelaide Symphony Orchestra), 1984 (Associate Director, Australia and Asia- pacific tours), Eh Joe (Beckett Triptych, Adelaide Festival), Between Two Waves. For Griffin Theatre Company: Music and Rust and Bone.
Other directing credits include Chinese New Year Concert (Adelaide Symphony Orchestra), The Good Son (The Other Ones), The Share, The Eisteddfod, That Face (five.point.one). As Assistant Director: Resident Assistant Director for The Bush Theatre (UK) and Paines Plough (UK), Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat (Paines Plough UK), Ghosts (STCSA), Holding the Man (STCSA).
Awards and Nominations: Emerging Artist of the Year (award, 2009, Adelaide Critics’ Circle), Best Drama for The Share (award, 2010, ATG Awards), Best Ensemble for The Good Son (award, 2015, Adelaide Critics’ Circle).
